This is a post I received as part of the Furtive Father Winter blogging event as hosted by Akabeko. By Fel, it’s awesome! So far I’ve only been able to take actual warlock sets and find a cloak or mainhand for them. Nightwill makes it look easy!
Greetings and Salutations!
Nightwill here – its my pleasure to be a guest of Poneria. Given her keen sense of style I thought I would offer up a few outfit ideas for transmogrification as well as information on how to collect the items for them.
Now green and red have always been classic warlock colors so they’re perfect for Winter’s Veil! I like to create an unusual look so here is my Winterveil Warlock outfit.
The Willow Cape, Thoughtcast Boots, and Vital Headband are drops in low level Dungeons. They are BoE so you can probably snag them off the Auction House. The Felheart Belt is a random drop in Molten Core and also most easily gotten there.
The hard part in this set to pick up is the robes. First you must get the Robes of Faltered Light off the fifth boss in Sunwell Plateau and then turn it and a Sunmote in to Yrma for the Robes of Ghostly Hatred.
Hard work to be certain but when your finished you will have an outfit that really shines.
But what if your one of those ‘good’ Warlocks? Who only learns to rip out and devour people’s souls and set people on fire to better help them? Or just to blend in with the Paladins and Priests when you visit the Cathedral because you were never good at fitting in with folks at the Slaughtered Lamb and Cleft of Shadow?
Here we have just the thing to help.
Bad news first the Kurkenstoks sandals are only available to the Alliance through the Draenei starting area. The Silver-Lined Cloak and Gossamer Robe are random low level drops. They are BoE so you can probably snag them off the Auction House.
Now in poking around I came across some gear that was much easier to get for a classic look I haven’t seen any warlocks using since Wrath of the Lich King. Its available for just a few Justice and Honor Points.
Well I suppose I fibbed a bit Relentless Gladiator’s Cord of Salvation has a 1% drop off the Flame or Ice bosses in the Vault of Archavon and the cloak a 23% drop chance off the sixth boss in Ice Crown Citadel. The Wrathful Gladiator’s Treads of Dominance can be bought for a mere 945 HP. Just 5 days of doing the Grizzly Hills daily PvP quests.
Though to be honest I’d probably turn off the helm. I’m not fond of the pointy hood.
Finally I have an outfit that I am quite happy with. The robes really didn’t have any good accessories until Wrath of the Lich King came out.
The Duskhallow Mantle is a 17% drop from the third boss in Magister’s Terrace. The Coldwraith Handwraps, Boots, and Cowl are BoE items from Wrath of the Lich King’s lower level content and probably best found on the Auction House.
The Robe of the Shadow Council comes from the fourth boss in the Black Temple raid and is also a 17% drop.
Finally the belt is the Cincture of Polarity from the Third, 1.3% Drop, and fourth, 17% drop, bosses in the Construct Quarter of Naxxramas.
The cloak is warlock only – the Shroud of Unspoken Names from a combination of drops and quests in the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj. Now don’t worry too much because the Ruin bosses are able to be solo killed so it isn’t as hard as it might sound.
First you need a Qiraji Regal Drape token. Its highest drop chance of 37-38% is off the first and second bosses. If you don’t pick one up there two other bosses have 11 and 10% chance to drop it. Then you need two amber Idols, five Bronze Scarabs, five Ivory Scarabs – all of these are not bind on pick up so if you fail to pick them up in the instance check the auction house.
Finally you have to have revered with the Cenarion Circle. I know, I know, most warlocks would rather be setting the tree huggers on fire instead of befriending them but its in the same of a good cause. Really pretty clothes!
I hope you found something you liked in the looks I worked up. Thanks so much to Poneria for the gift of writing she gives us.
Merry Winter Veil!
