Transmogging Winter Veil

This is a post I received as part of the Furtive Father Winter blogging event as hosted by Akabeko.  By Fel, it’s awesome!  So far I’ve only been able to take actual warlock sets and find a cloak or mainhand for them.  Nightwill makes it look easy!

Greetings and Salutations!

Nightwill here – its my pleasure to be a guest of Poneria.  Given her keen sense of style I thought I would offer up a few outfit ideas for transmogrification as well as information on how to collect the items for them.

Merry 'Locking!

Now green and red have always been classic warlock colors so they’re perfect for Winter’s Veil!  I like to create an unusual look so here is my Winterveil Warlock outfit.

The Willow CapeThoughtcast Boots, and Vital Headband are drops in low level Dungeons.  They are BoE so you can probably snag them off the Auction House.  The Felheart Belt is a random drop in Molten Core and also most easily gotten there.

The Slime-Encrusted Pads are a 29% drop from the end boss in the Wailing Caverns and the Jaedenfire Gloves of Annihilation 18% drop off the first boss in the Shadow Labyrinth.

The hard part in this set to pick up is the robes.  First you must get the Robes of Faltered Light off the fifth boss in Sunwell Plateau and then turn it and a Sunmote in to Yrma for the Robes of Ghostly Hatred.

Hard work to be certain but when your finished you will have an outfit that really shines.

But what if your one of those ‘good’ Warlocks?  Who only learns to rip out and devour people’s souls and set people on fire to better help them?  Or just to blend in with the Paladins and Priests when you visit the Cathedral because you were never good at fitting in with folks at the Slaughtered Lamb and Cleft of Shadow?

Here we have just the thing to help.

Holy Lockery Batman!

Bad news first the Kurkenstoks sandals are only available to the Alliance through the Draenei starting area.   The Silver-Lined Cloak and Gossamer Robe are random low level drops.  They are BoE so you can probably snag them off the Auction House.

The Belt of the Falling Rain you can get for a few Justice Points.

The Amice of Brilliant Light comes from the third boss in Black Temple and the Gloves of Unfailing Faith the sixth.  Finally the Lifespark Visage is from the first boss in Ulduar.

Now in poking around I came across some gear that was much easier to get for a classic look I haven’t seen any warlocks using since Wrath of the Lich King.  Its available for just a few Justice and Honor Points.

Classic WotLK Warlock Look

The Dark Coven HoodRobesShoulders, and Gloves will set you back a total of 3590 JP.

Well I suppose I fibbed a bit Relentless Gladiator’s Cord of Salvation has a 1% drop off the Flame or Ice bosses in the Vault of Archavon and the cloak a 23% drop chance off the sixth boss in Ice Crown Citadel. The Wrathful Gladiator’s Treads of Dominance can be bought for a mere 945 HP.  Just 5 days of doing the Grizzly Hills daily PvP quests.

Though to be honest I’d probably turn off the helm.  I’m not fond of the pointy hood.

Finally I have an outfit that I am quite happy with.  The robes really didn’t have any good accessories until Wrath of the Lich King came out.

The Duskhallow Mantle is a 17% drop from the third boss in Magister’s Terrace. The Coldwraith HandwrapsBoots, and Cowl are BoE items from Wrath of the Lich King’s lower level content and probably best found on the Auction House.

The Robe of the Shadow Council comes from the fourth boss in the Black Temple raid and is also a 17% drop.

Finally the belt is the Cincture of Polarity from the Third, 1.3% Drop, and fourth, 17% drop, bosses in the Construct Quarter of Naxxramas.

The cloak is warlock only – the Shroud of Unspoken Names from a combination of drops and quests in the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj.  Now don’t worry too much because the Ruin bosses are able to be solo killed so it isn’t as hard as it might sound.

First you need a Qiraji Regal Drape token.  Its highest drop chance of 37-38% is off the first and second bosses.  If you don’t pick one up there two other bosses have 11 and 10% chance to drop it.  Then you need two amber Idols, five Bronze Scarabs, five Ivory Scarabs – all of these are not bind on pick up so if you fail to pick them up in the instance check the auction house.

Finally you have to have revered with the Cenarion Circle.  I know, I know, most warlocks would rather be setting the tree huggers on fire instead of befriending them but its in the same of a good cause.  Really pretty clothes!

I hope you found something you liked in the looks I worked up.  Thanks so much to Poneria for the gift of writing she gives us.

Merry Winter Veil!

Transmogging Winter Veil

Bright Voidwalker

It’s Bright Voidwalker because the Dark Voidwalker is Dark. Duh.

This time, the cloaks have a bit of a choice depending on your design favorites. I still love Wispcloak; I think the top fits the best, appearing to blend into the cloth set, and retains its own flavor without being too distinct from the Voidheart’s colors and design. But Bishop’s Cloak is a close second.

Battle Chain Cloak is a blue version of Netherfury Cape, but unfortunately it’s a white/common vendor item.  Winterwater Cloak is the only copy I can find of Battle Chain Cloak.  I think the deep blue works better with Voidheart than the purple, but I’ve included both.

  • Bishop’s Cloak: 130 JP = 375 Honor.

Shadow Sorceress

I named it Shadow Sorceress because it’s not quite necromancer, not quite dark because the red stands out, but definitely not bright-colors-magey, either.  It was based off the last picture in Cynwise’s post, which I just had to have.  Cynwise (the character) herself probably fits the set best, with her black hair, but it still look sexy with Pon’s brown locks.

After laying eyes upon this set, my Putress mogging set got sat, and this became my new affliction raiding set.

Shadow Sorceress

Dark Voidwalker

** If I can find available, moggable weapons, I’ll add them later.

I named it Dark because the raiding tier 4 is a brighter version of it.

This is currently my demonology raiding set.  I liked the demon-feel to it.  I originally planned on the lighter T4 coloration, but after seeing the darker PvP recolor, I liked that better as a dark & twisty warlock.
